Anageropoulos(8)

Paul was so excited he didn't even say goodbye to his friends when he left the party.
That woman was the center of his attention now.
Nansy had told him that vampires didn't have urges, especially of the sexual kind. Well, either she was wrong or he was the exception to the rule.
He drove as fast as he could to the bar named "Purgatory".
He was surprised to see that this goth club had a line of people waiting to get inside.
Two huge men were blocking the way and people had to either show a card or wait in line.
"Ooops! How do I...? I hope she gave them my name or that her name will be enough", he thought.
He parked his bike several meters away and walked towards the doors.
Suddenly he felt poor compared to all those other people waiting in line.
-ID!, said the huge man at the door.
-I don't have one...I am expected by...
-Then back in line!
-...Ms. Roxanne. She invited me here.
The other guy checked his book and whispered something in the huge guy's ear.
-Of course Mr. Anageropoulos. Your friend is already waiting for you inside. Have a nice time in "Purgatory".
Now he was feeling like a conqueror. He must have made a very good impression on that woman.
He entered full of courage and self confidence just to lose it all after a few steps.

He was right. This place echoed with goth music but its interior looked like it belonged centuries back in time.
The decorations, the lights, even people's dresses reminded him of movies about the Dark Ages.
He wondered why there was a line outside. The place was half-empty.
"It is a place for rich, eccentric guys" he decided.
But what a place! The ugliest woman inside there could have been a super model in the outside world.
-Where am I? Am I in Heaven?, he whispered.
-Not yet, dear, a voice replied. You are in ''Purgatory''. Where you'll go will be decided later.
He turned only to see a young man with witty, green eyes, not more than twenty five, freshly bathed and shaved, wearing a 5000 Euro suit standing near him.
-Hi! I am Paul Anageropoulos. I am looking for a girl named Roxanne.
-Roxanne? Then you have come to the right place, my friend. I am Kostas Georgakakis and I am the proud owner of this place. I'm very happy to see it has made such an impression on you.
The men shook hands.
-Now about Ms. Roxanne, let me take you to her. She is a very good friend of mine.

They crossed the room and Paul could swear that half of the people in there were following his every step.
"Rich, eccentric guys" he reminded himself.
Roxanne was sitting alone with no sign of her previous company.
She smiled a promising smile when she saw them.
-I see you've already met my friend, Kostas.
-Meeting your friend was MY honor Roxanne. A new one?
-Always Kostas, always.
The woman kissed Paul on the cheek.
-Welcome to "Purgatory" Paul.
-Your friends?
-Do you need them? Cause I don't.
-What can I offer you two love birds?
-A bottle of the usual Kostas. And you Paul?
-What's the usual?
-Nevermind Paul, said Kostas, Roxanne drinks a weird wine. You wouldn't like it, I can promise you that.
-Then I guess I'll stick with a scotch, no ice please.
-...and Kostas!
-Yes Roxanne?
-I hope your DJ will soon play something more exciting...
-Your wish is my command dear.
"Weird people", he thought.

They had been sitting there for at least two hours while, in the meantime, the place had filled up either with people, who had been waiting in the line or with new equally eccentric faces.
The DJ had, indeed, changed the music now playing a mix of folk and techno songs.
At some point Paul had to use the bathroom. Being vampire meant that normal food and drinks had no place inside him and after a few glasses of whiskey he had to rid his body of it.
When he returned he found Roxanne dancing alongside a bunch of guys and girls.
The spectacle was almost terrifying. She was dancing as if she were possessed, swaying to the rhythm of the song.
Such was her passion that he had to focus on controlling his inner beast from charging at her right that instant.
He joined her on the dance floor. His training with Nansy had proved to be useful otherwise it would have been impossible for him to follow that crazy, exhausting rhythm.
Soon his hands were over her body and she didn't seem to mind that.
Instead she put hers on him too. She didn't seem to care about what everyone around them would say.
In the middle of the song their lips united in a hellish kiss, full of passion and promises.
And by the end of the song they were embraced, still kissing.
Finally, he was the first to speak.
-I am sorry. I got carried away, but you were perfect, like an angel.
-Me? An angel?
-Of temptation of course.
-Ha ha ha.
-To be honest Roxanne, I want us to leave.
-My place or yours?
Paul couldn't believe his ears.
-Err...yours?
-Fine, let's go.
-Wait, we have to pay.
-It's already been paid. I told you, I'm a regular here.
They grabbed their jackets and her bag and left in a hurry.
Paul managed to see Kostas waving goodbye with a weird smile on his face.
Outside the place looked a lot less crowded than before with only a few goths waiting in line, but judging by their looks Paul could bet they had no chance of getting in.
Paul went for his bike.
-No way I am riding that!, said the woman.
-Then how...
The woman pointed to a silver, cabrio BMW parked a few meters away.
-Yours? Really now, expensive clothes, expensive taste in places and wines AND A BMW? Who are you?
-I told you my name is Roxanne. Would you like my ID or my body?
-I'd rather have your body.
-Then jump in, you can always come and get your bike tomorrow.
"Sooner than that I hope. After you go to sleep and definitely before sunrise", Paul thought.

The woman seemed to drive as fast and reckless as he and soon they had reached a building in the rich side of town, where they parked.
They entered the building and as soon as they were in the elevator they started kissing passionately.
They reached her doorstep and he was almost naked already.
She unlocked the door fast and he grabbed her, lifting her with his hands.
The house looked weird. There was no living room, no kitchen and as far as he could see, no balcony. It was like a big bedroom with faint red lights and a huge bed in the middle.
Paul, Roxanne still in his arms, moved towards the bed.
At the same time she was unzipping his jeans and as they dropped to his knees, they both fell on the bed.
''First I will make love to her and then I will have her blood. She will fall asleep and I will leave here before sunrise.''
He was kissing her, that thought slowly fading away. He felt more alive than ever.
''Nansy was definitely wrong'', he thought.
When he reached her neck he couldn't hold himself back anymore.
''One small bite now and one right after'' he promised himself.
He started licking her neck making her moan from passion and suddenly he opened his mouth and bit her.
Most of the times the victims of the "Kiss" would be paralyzed in a state of agony and pleasure leaving the vampire to suck them dry with ease, but this time it was Paul who found himself in that state.
This blood was like a bomb, a liquid fire and he couldn't stop drinking.
That good was it that he didn't even notice that not only wasn't the woman paralyzed but she was also shaking from pleasure, bearing a grim smile on her face.
After several seconds, during which Paul felt like he was in Heaven, he realized what the blood he had been drinking was.
He had tasted it quite a few times during his training.
Whenever he was fatally wounded, Nansy would let him drink from her blood since the blood of an elder bore miraculous results for younger vampires.
That woman in front of him wasn't a mortal girl. She was an ancient vampire, older than Nansy, and he had fallen into her trap like a fool.
Much like mortals get enthralled by it, vampiric blood had the same effect on vampires though not as fast as with humans.
Paul jumped away from the bed, his eyes filled with terror. He had a weird feeling about this woman.
-Stay away from me!, he shouted.
-Well, well. What do we have here? A homeless one?
-Stay away from me!, he repeated, or else...
-Or else, what?
Paul reached for his jacket, his favorite semi-automatic hand gun was still there.
-Or else I will shoot you! He knew that wasn't really a threat to an elder though.
-I wouldn't do that if I were you, said the woman smiling while pointing at a bunch of really weird and alive shadows gathering around them.
Nansy had told him about vampires who held power over shadows.
She had warned him that while those vampires were few, they were as deadly killers as them.
Suddenly, the whole room was covered with a thick black shadow. Even with his enhanced sight he could barely see inside that dome, while even more shadows were dancing around him, springing to life.
Paul knew he stood no chance against an elder, yet.
-Okay, okay, you win. I will put the gun down and I would like to talk to you.
-Talk then, I'm listening!
-How about those shadows? I prefer looking at you while talking, you are a much better sight!
Paul let his gun drop and sat on the edge of the bed to show that he had given up.
In an instant the shadows vanished and everything was back to normal as if they had never moved.
The woman, still naked, was smiling, standing on the other side of the bed.
-I'm glad you didn't try anything stupid. Many of the things in here hold beloved memories and I really like you, to kill you so fast.
-You knew?
-From the very beginning.
-What did i do? I mean how?
-The way you smelled and the way you avoided my charm. It is aimed only at mortals, to keep them under my will and you didn't get affected by it.
-Does anyone else know?
-I haven't told a soul, but if you are hiding young one, you are hiding very poorly.
-Are you going to kill me?
-That depends solely on you.
-What do you want from me?
-Nothing hard. To begin with, never leave the side of a woman before you have finished what you started.
-Huh?
-Afterwards we shall sleep. Make yourself at home. I suppose you don't like the sun and neither do I. And tomorrow night we are going to talk about you.
-Aren't you afraid of sleeping next to me?
-Afraid? Of you? HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA
Paul felt little and angry.
-Excuse me young one but even if I was tied up and torpid you could barely harm me. After all I sleep light and the shadows happen to be extremely capable guardians in case you try doing anything stupid or leaving.
-Okay point taken. I suppose I have no other option.
-Well, no. If you'd like to see another night, that is. But try to look on the bright side, I rarely like someone so much that I let him in my bed. Consider yourself lucky!
-So now what?
-NOW finish what we started earlier...and tomorrow we'll talk!
