Nansy(1)

She woke up late that night, she wasn't lazy, she had never been, but after a few centuries of life, waking up right on time gets boring, not that she was bored with her life, not at all, she was enjoying every single night from the night her sire found and embraced her.
For Nancy, her continued existence was a never ending game, a hunt with a priceless trophy and she was a damn good hunter and like every good hunter she knew she had to go out later that night in order to catch her valued prey.
But that night was special, after two full centuries her mentor, yes her mentor and not her sire who had fallen from grace and was a follower of a wrong path, but her mentor, her sire's sire had spoken to her.
Not face to face of course, but in her mind. It wasn't the right time and it could be dangerous for both of them. Her mastery over a mental power let her mentor contact Nancy even in the most remote corner of the Earth.
Her words were few but very important.
''The circle must continue, the legacy must be passed down to a new generation'' and then an image followed, that of a short, thin, young and nerdy man.
-I chose him for you but he cannot know it.
-Him? He doesn't look good even for a human.
-Do not doubt me young one, his fate has to play a very important role. Go find him and introduce him to our world.
That was her order and she had to obey.
Of course she didn't ask where to find him, she was a hunter and that was the nice thing with her job...she loved to hunt, especially live prey.

It took her almost two months to locate this young man and another two weeks stalking and observing him.
Each day, more than the one before, she doubted her mentor's choice and each day she remembered that mental powers beyond her understanding had marked her for this task.

And, finally, tonight was the night.
Her ex-husband and she had agreed not to create any progeny so that their war would end with them and there she was ready to break that pact.
Narssel, her ex, was older than her. He was already an experienced fighter before he had found her but he was wrong, wrong in his way of thinking, wrong in his beliefs and finally wrong about how this eternal conflict should end.
All these years she had never stopped thinking how could her mentor ever have picked Narssel as her child. He was nothing like her. Narssel was frozen in time with no emotions and no passions in him while she and her mentor were creatures of pure passion, nightstalkers with an ever burning bloodlust in their eyes.
Though she had to admit, Narssel was one hell of a fighter, he was perfect, a natural born killer, fast, strong, fearless and clever and now she was going to challenge him by breaking the pact those two had made more than a century ago.
And for what? For a man that couldn't withstand even her lightest slap...
She had loved Narssel back in those nights when they hunted together and when war was everywhere around them and she never forgave the fact that he chose his disciplines over her.
That pact was their silent divorce and from then on only when the Prince needed them both would they be in the same place. Though she was sure that sometimes she felt his eyes on her, on her body, admiring the killing machine he had created. Just like she did many times...

"Focus!!!" she ordered herself.
This night's task wasn't easy, she had to catch a live prey and make it disappear while making the whole thing look like a simple crime and all that inside the university campus where neither her Prince nor his hated Sheriff would bother to investigate and where some of the town mages had their homes.
For many, this task would seem impossible but not for her.
She smiled like a shark and brought the image of the man in her mind.
"So tonight Mr. Anageropoulos you will die a death eternal!!!"
